This carafe is handmade on the throwing wheel and individually decorated. The decoration is achieved by pouring dark glaze over the surface before it’s kiln fired. After firing the dot-design is applied using 24ct goldleaf and then sealed for stability.
The ridges at the top of the carafe are exaggerated throwing-lines created in the vase’s production on the wheel and are a reflection of Jo Davies’ hands as well as her design intention, which prioritises an organic approach that seeks to make her work appear soft.

Care Instructions:
Hand wash only using soft cloths. Please do not use abrasive chemicals on this surface. Gilded items can be used carefully but the 24ct goldleaf surface is delicate. The gilded element of their surface has been stabilised and protected by shellac but care should be taken in its use.

Items are securely packaged for transit but, in the rare event of a breakage, the item will be replaced. In this event customers need to notify the studio with images of breakage within 24 hours of arrival to secure replacement item.
